How many people would stop using their mobile if they knew it would damage their health - say with regular use over time triggering changes in the brain?

Ask around.

Try to explain people's answers.

[quote="beepadmin"]How many people would stop using their mobile if they knew it would damage their health[quote]

I think people are to busy to think that a device smaller than their hand could cause serious damage.

If its so dangerous, how come almost everyone in britain has one?

If it is dangerous, how did it get through health and safety regulations?

When it comes to mobile phones causing illness and increased risk of cancer the results are very much unknown some say it does others say it doesnt. However it is not just mobile phones that we all are being exposed to, all the time there is more and more radiation we are exposed to it it not just our mobile phones which emmit radiation, other gadgets do.. GPS, WIFI, Bluetooth... the list goes on.

so maybe instead of focusing on mobile phone potencially causing illness maybe it is all the other gadgets?

I agree with this completly, but the problem is we need to find out how much radiation this products do compared with normal background radiation and all the gadgets radiation at the same time. Then we can find out wheter they are dangerous or not.

If they are then a complaint would be submitted and gadgets would have to be given a limited usage, to avoid a high health risk to people.

The problem is, is it right to monitor peoples radiation intake, some might see it as the government getter closer to communism, and wasting taxpayers money.

If there is suggestions that it could be dangerous, should we monitor people or not?

I agree with this too.

When it comes to monitoring people radiation intake from mobile phones then techincally we already do. From march 2008 Mobile phone companies have to keep a recored of how many times you have used your phone and what number you have called and how long for. So from this data you can calculte how much radiation you have been exposed to from your mobile. and i guess the same applies for using wireless internet.

So technically we are already being monitored. All that is left to be found out is wether they are dangerous or not.

this is highly inaccurate, because this doesn't tell you how much radiation gets to them, or other people. it would be an over the actual result.

In terms of health and safety, accuracy and precision is key, from results by that test, you would have neither.

Well i feel that potenciall it could be quite accurate.

They thay can use mobile phones to, track where you are, who and how long you have be calling, how many texts you have sent.

From using this data they know much much radiation your phone gives out and they know how long you have used it. From this they can calculate how much radiation you have had from that. Then from knowing where you are they can calcualte how far you are away from a base station and how many bas stations so they can calculate the radation from those, then from the main central data base of all mobile phone provides they could potencially how many mobile phones were around you and hoe much radiation you got from them.

It is alot of work but it is possible they can do it. Of course this only accounts for mobile phones and does not include you radio frequencies but for mobile phones it is possible

it cant be acurrate because radiation travels in all directions, so not all of the radiation hits you so it is not accurate!!!!!

again monitoring peoples actual radiation intake is the only way to be 100% sure how much radiation gets to them, not an estimate by working out how often they use there phone (which doesnt acount for the time when its on but not calling people), your idea is about 50-70% accurate. only my idea is the most accurate, which is key when you are going to decide whether or not to ban something so widely used and popular!!!
