Sunscreen

One of the most effective ways of reducing the risk of skin cancer from the sun is to wear sunscreen. These are easily available, cheap and provide important protection for the skin. The sunscreen provides a filter that absorbs the UV from the sunlight hitting your skin and stops it from damaging the cells. This allows you to stay in the sun for longer if you are wearing a high factor sunscreen. You can use  this tool to calculate how long you can stay in the sun for before you get burnt.

To think about:

Experts recommend that you should wear factor 30 for the necessary protection to your skin, however you can still buy lower factor sunscreens from the chemist. Do you think these lower factor screens should be banned?
