Computers are used widely in modelling as they can process large quantities of data very quickly. People who have skills in using computer models are useful!

Computer models help us to predict what will happen in a lot of different areas, such as:

• Finance (e.g. banking, insurance, stock markets) – useful if you want to be rich.
• Science (e.g. weather forecasting, ecosystems, space) – useful if you want to understand the world and predict how it will change.
• Government (e.g. health facts and figures, education for the future, the strength of the armed forces) – useful if you need to plan how the country should be run.
